August 2003 Meeting

The Lost and Found Conversation

<< previous section | next section >>

Myron began by setting his context for our work. He spoke of connecting the brilliant points of learning, change, and our legacy. Our first exercise was the World Café process whose foundation is based upon creating a hospitable environment to have deep conversations about questions that matter. At our tables we first answered the question: "What are we discovering about what works and how?" After 25 minutes in this conversation, a host volunteered to stay at the table and the rest of the participants moved to new tables. The host greeted the new arrivals, gave a brief report on the conversation of the first round, and we entered into a new conversation with this group. On each table were markers and paper "tablecloths" that we were encouraged to write, draw and make notes on during the conversation.
