Education Initiatives

The Ball Foundation Education Initiatives (EI) is a partner in transforming schools.

Its mission is to release the power within educators to improve student achievement and create highly productive schools.

The Ball Foundation is a private operating foundation that is in a powerful position to contribute to the transformation of public education. Instead of awarding grants, the foundation chooses to work directly with schools, districts, and other organizations to bring about sustainable systemic change.

What's New....

The Partnership Learning Network convened a Community of Practice Meeting ("Sowing the Seeds of Learning") on October 13-15, 2004. School and district teams from each of the foundation's partnerships attended. A meeting report will be posted soon.

In their June 2004 meeting, the Ball Foundation Board of Directors adopted a new vision, mission, and goals for Education Initiatives. These, and an updated theory of change, can be found on the "Our Work" page of this site..
